Programming With The New English Syllabus

Week 4 of this term saw all teachers stand down to program a mini unit using the new English syllabus.  Staff were asked to consider the Accelerated Literacy sequence, objectives, outcome codes, content, multimodal text, learning across the curriculum content, QTF and assessment (for, as and of learning).  Teachers worked in pairs or in small groups.  There was a lot of professional dialogue that took place during these sessions with staff asking questions, clarifying thoughts and throwing around ideas.  Staff that had attended Programming Essentials with Lizzie Chase shared the information that they had gained from these sessions with each team.  Most staff found this time valuable as it clarified any questions before implementation in 2014.
