Today the ES1 team picked up from the last research planning day. We are currently focusing on places we know in the immediate surroundings. Such as bedrooms, homes/houses, shopping centres, parks and farms. Using the inquiry process model we collected a range of texts that will be used in the retrieval section of the inquiry model. We identified texts such as online texts, visual images through photos, posters, online image searches, books – informational and fictional, multimodal texts and a range of maps etc.
We created a program template which allows for the inquiry process model to be incorporated into our current school program template. This template includes quality teaching elements, all strands of literacy, integrates CAPA and Science and technology, and allows for differentiation as well.
We are currently working towards creating a rubric to ensure thorough assessment data is collected throughout the unit.
