Yesterday students had the opportunity to use tough cams and a range of menu item ingredients to stage their own mini photo shoots. These photos will be used in the menus students are creating using Photoshop. Brett had students thinking about lighting, props and the positioning of their fruits, vegetables, chocolate and icing sugar on a plate before taking their photos. It was incredible to hear students discuss different techniques they were going to use and observe students experimenting with white or black cardboard as a back drop and the positioning of their ingredients. The students took some great photos and then saved them in a folder which they would be able to access once ready to use in their Photoshop menus. I know this was a valuable experience for students and more beneficial in terms of their learning than just using what already exists. I look forward to seeing these photos in the menus!
